UPDC Plc is conscious of the need to remain a Good Corporate Citizen. To this end, UPDC assists communities, institutions and charitable organisations.

Under the UACN PLC’s Higher Education Scholarship Scheme, thirty open scholarships are awarded annually to students attending Nigerian Universities and to children of UACN and UPDC employees. Beneficiaries of the scholarships are in no way bonded to the Company.

Furthermore, the Company offers vacation jobs and industrial attachments to students in higher institutions of learning, enabling them to obtain practical experience in a wide range of business and technical skills.

The Company also supports the National Youth Service Scheme by creating opportunities for Corp members to serve the Nation while giving an avenue to acquire the right skill set required for the challenges of the job market.

Additionally, the Company has a Secondary School Scholarship Scheme, introduced in 1948, which is open to children of both serving and retired staff of the Company. Today, thirty of such awards are made annually.
